Status of the PTO 2020-21
Although the PTO typically hosts many of the memorable events that our students look forward to each year, including the Pumpkin Patch, Book Fair, Santa’s Workshop and Strawberry Festival, as well as school dances and assemblies, in these unprecedented times, it is hardly “business as usual.” As parents, we share your feelings of disappointment and we hope to resume our normal activities as soon as we are able.
Our focus for the 2020-21 school year is on supporting families and teachers, and fostering our community virtually. We have been hard at work coming up with ways that we can do this in the upcoming year, and look forward to sharing these details with you in the next few weeks. One key decision we have made is to suspend membership fees and fundraising activity as we navigate these uncharted waters together. We are available to you through several means of communication (see below) and are here to answer questions and provide support at any time.
But we need your help! Please join the PTO and add your voices to our community. Attend our virtual meetings, and when the time comes, please consider volunteering. This year, membership is free. Join through our website to keep up to date on the latest SGS PTO events and volunteer opportunities, plus a directory of SGS PTO families. You will also receive monthly updates by email. We will continue to post updates on Facebook and here on our website as they become available. And as always, you can email us your questions, comments, feedback and ideas.

By joining the PTO, you help us meet our school's needs that are outside the scope of their budget. You also get great discounts, locally and nationally. When you go a step further and volunteer to help with events—or join our board— you set a fine example for our students to follow, and greatly encourage our teachers and staff.

PTO General Meeting
The first PTO meeting of the 2020-21 school year will be held October 1st at 7pm. Information on how to join the meeting will be posted the week before the meeting.
